A spectacular (if a little chilly) winter climb of Taiwan's 'Snow Mountain'.

We have just returned from an amazing winter climb of Xueshan in Taiwan. Easily accessed from our home in Hong Kong this short but spectacular trip combined wonderful night hikes, contemplative wanderings through pristine black fir forests, and a final ascent (with crampons) of the mountain's snow-covered cirque to reach the 3866m summit. The climb is not overly technical, although there are some exposed sections that require a little scrambling, but all in all it is well within the capability of most reasonaby fit people. In short, the trip exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an epic 3 day adventure.
