Here at Whistling Arrow, we have always had a keen interest in photographing little-known, esoteric festivals throughout western China, Tibet and the wider Himalaya. Yunnan, in particular, has always been one of our favourite destinations, as it is home to a wide variety of minority cultures and festivals. On a custom photography trip we designed for a small group of private clients recently, we once again ventured well off the beaten track to capture celebrations and ceremonies that have rarely been documented by outsiders before.
