Trekking The Wild Lumba Sumba Pass In North East Nepal.

In November 2018, our small group of intrepid trekkers flew by helicopter to the remote village of Olangchung Gola which straddles the wild borderlands of Kanchenjunga and Makalu Barun National Parks, to witness the esoteric, community-based 'phutuk' festival. After experiencing the various cham dances (which are performed in the 'Northern Treasures' tradition of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist Nyingma sect), our team then set off towards the wild and mighty Lumba Sumba Pass (5160m) before descending into the lower Arun Valley. Thanks to Claudia, Sandra, Richard, Raj, Walter and Chris for making it a fabulous trip.
